Is it illegal to post comments on Facebook about someone in Thailand and what can happen if you do serious answers back only please thank you

If what you wrote could be considered to be slander , untrue or defamatory , then they can take private legal action, because thet is against the law in Thailand

It was all true what I said about a apartment I was renting post comment on this site about how I was treated by his wife can you be arrested at the airport or by the police next time I come to Thailand

thank you luke 000

In Thailand, the truth is no defense against libel/defamation cases.

But Can you be arrested at the airport or by the police???

Possibly.

Defamation is a criminal offence in Thailand.

If the victim makes a police report you could be in trouble.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Quite a lot will depend on the influence your adversary has and what connections they have with the police.

She got the police and was trying to get me evicted from the apartment I was renting and agreement with he's been saying could stay for one month when he went back to work offshore she was demanding money for rent and the police were on my side saying I could stay and that's what I've put on Facebook page

If what you wrote could be considered to be slander , untrue or defamatory , then they can take private legal action, because thet is against the law in Thailand

To clarify, even if what you said is 100% true, you can be guilty of slander.

Good god man, have you never heard of trolling?

But Can you be arrested at the airport or by the police???

I wouldn`t chance it until you leave Thailand and don`t plan on coming back, at least for several years. It`s OK to mention your bad experiences with your rental but probably not wise to mention any names or addresses because at the moment it`s just your word against theirs. The laws are not as harsh as some may think because people making serious allegations can ruin businesses and reputations especially if it`s just because some are competitors or hold grudges.

It`s the opposite in Thailand from other countries whereas in some countries it up to the people being accused of wrong doing to prove otherwise and in Thailand it`s up to the accusers to come up with absolute proof before making accusations.
