PAD petition Supreme Court to oppose withdrawing the case against its leaders from the court

BANGKOK: -- The People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) today (Wednesday) petitioned the Supreme Court president and the panel of judges of the Supreme Court’s criminal division for political office holders expressing its opposition to a proposal of the National Anti-Corruption Commission to withdraw a court case regarding the government crackdown on PAD protesters eight years ago.

The petition was submitted by former core leader of the PAD, Mr Phipob Thongchai, lawyer Nitithorn Lumlua and some of the protesters.

Mr Phipob said that he wasn’t sure that the NACC would not withdraw the case although a panel of the NACC had decided not to withdraw the case.

He noted that the protesters who were charged in the court for their acts during the anti-government protest eight years ago had never escaped and were willing to face the charges in the court because they have trust in the judicial process.

During the protests, the PAD protesters seized Don Meuang and Suvarnabhumi airports to purt pressure on the Pheu Thai led-government.

Perhaps they have already been informed of the outcome?

Yeah it seems a little fishy -thou doth protest waaay too little!

They must reimburse the country for billions that it lost.

Apologise to the international community for scaring the sht out of the tourists and business people that could not leave.

The effects of that close down are still being felt today. Many people will not come here for fear of not being able to leave.

In my opinion, this little patty tantrum cost the country ten fold more than the rice scheme.

Don't forget - this lot are part of the resident governing evil and they will get their way whatever happens. Thai politics as usual, in spite of the appalling publicity to Thailand and massive economic loss their actions cased.

The heading is a little misleading. They are protesting the decision to drop the case against the Govt at the time, not their leaders.

As soon as I read the syntax in that headline I knew it was written be Thai PBS.

Aha, Thai PBS, Can you trust the broadcaster. Got all the words there, not sure if they are in the correct order (as usual).
