Fishing In Cm

Featured Replies

Is the fishing any good up here?

I would guess the fish wouldnt put up much of a fight or am I wrong. Wheres are the best spots for some good fishing and or with a lovely view to unwind and relax for a few hours. And how heavy/ big would the fish likely to be? Any tips and tricks for catching the big ones???

If you have any experiences, please let me know as Im keen to give it a whirl when I get back in December.

Borsang Fishing Park is pretty good for a pond - big fish (10+ kg), lots of action, but the people who work there are wretched miserable things. Mostly catching pla sawai - use bread or old yucky cakes to catch them. The pond sells overpriced bags of bread there or you can get other stuff in town. They have rods and reels for rent, but not such good quality.

Mae Kwang dam near Doi Saket. Need to go in a long tail boat. Fish are harder to catch but absolutely fantastic to eat and it's more exciting to catch them (pla chedo. I think that's giant snakehead in English). Now's a good time to go; the fish are biting more this time of year. Beautiful view. PM me if you want the phone number of the guys who drive the boats. Generally you have to call and reserve a day and time, and weekends generally get booked up by the regulars.

There are fishing ponds everywhere once you get outside of the main city area and across the second ring road. Some specialise in catfish and others in scaled fish.

Cheers,

thanks

that sounds brilliant, although the staff at Borsang dont sound to good. Nevermind will check it out as a 10 + kg fish on light tackle would be a buzz.

thanks again TT,

Don
