Does my wife need to be present to register our son on her Aunt's tabian baan?

My wife is currently in Petchabun getting the por kor 14 for our step-daughter and also changing her surname to mine and obtaining her birth certificate. She also went to register our son on her Aunt's tabian baan but couldn't because we registered our son at the Amphur here on Samui and they need a letter from the Amphur.

I went to the Amphur today but was told my wife needs to come back to this.

I'm just wondering if it's possible that when my wife gets back we can post the necessary documents up to Petchabun and her aunt can register his name on her house book herself. My wife thinks she also needs to be present with the Aunt to register his name.

Any help is appreciated.
