PHUKET: A General at the Immigration Bureau has warned that failure to provide personal details on a new form handed out the Phuket Immigration Office this week will have consequences for foreigners submitting applications in Phuket.

PHUKET: A 20-year-old man was arrested on Thursday night (May 19) when he was found to be in possession of 2,098 methamphetamine pills (ya bah), three guns and 290 bullets.

PHUKET: A storm of controversy has erupted after it was claimed that Koh Tapu, a tropical inlet on Khao Phing Kan, more commonly known as “James Bond Island” was used as a backdrop for a western sex movie.

Tour boats warned to steer clear of dolphins off Phuket

PHUKET: Officials have warned tour guides and boat operators to stay at a safe distance from marine life, after a large pod of dolphins was spotted near Koh Mai Thon off the southeast coast of Phuket.

Lost Chinese tourists found safe in Phuket wildlife sanctuary

PHUKET: Two Chinese tourists were found safe and well after getting lost while hiking in the Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Sanctuary last night (May 20).

King receives treatment of excess fluid in spinal cord and brain

BANGKOK: The Bureau of the Royal Household on Friday night issued a statement reporting the development of the sickness of His Majesty the King at Siriraj Hospital after he was admitted at the hospital for treatment since early this month.

The statement said that the team of doctors has given the King treatment for excess fluid in the spinal cord and brain since May 2.

They have noticed the irregular movement of the King’s facial muscles.

A computer screening was conducted on the brain and they have detected excess fluid in spinal cord and brain.

The doctors then adjusted a thin tube in his abdomen to drain the excess fluid from spinal cord and brain between 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm (Friday) and the result was satisfactory, it said.

Oklahoma governor vetoes bill criminalizing abortion

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin vetoed legislation that would have effectively outlawed abortion in the state by making it a felony for doctors to perform the procedure, saying the measure vague and would not withstand a legal challenge.

Congo opposition leader Katumbi flies to South Africa

Thailand: ‘Intrusive’ immigration form now mandatory for foreigners in Phuket

PHUKET: IF you are planning to visit Thailand’s resort province of Phuket, you will now be required to furnish a host of personal information, including banking account and social media details to the nation’s Immigration bureau.
