PATTAYA: At 11am on the morning of May 20th the Sawangboriboon Mobile Ambulance rushed to the scene of a motorcycle accident involving fifteen-year old student named Adee.

Upon their arrival the lad explained to medics that he had taken his motorcycle out to buy food for his family to celebrate Visakhabucha (The Day of the Big Buddha) and on his way he noticed a particularly beautiful female student walking across the road.

This vision before him led to a moment of Enlightenment and he left his mind behind, lost both his concentration, and control of his motorbike and crashed into the pavement.

I believe that "moment of Enlighten" has a more physical explanation.

He ' left his mind behind ' ! cheesy.gif

Don't leave home without it.

This is going to join the list of excuses along with brake failure, rain made the road slippery etc.

Good try pal, good try

so like 90% of motorsai drivers looking everywhere instead of straight ahead.

I think he has only just started riding a motorbike.

15, they start late in Pattaya don't they ?

Has he got a license,if not will his bike be impounded ,fined ,suspension of license and parents fined for allowing underage not license holder riding motorbike

The lad should have gone to SpecSavers ! Hope he finds his helmet... what helmet !

Many of the kids in our village, not yet in their teens, are not heavy enough to kick start the bike and have to get and adult to do it for them. Their legs are not long enough to reach the ground when seated and have to jump forward, clear of the seat, to place their feet on the ground. Parents seem happy for these kids to ride out onto the busy main road to buy food from the next village........usually on the hard shoulder against the flow of traffic and often with a couple of their younger siblings riding pillion. Nice to see the younger generation starting early to break the rules which I'm sure they will continue to do, as we see daily, throughout their lives.

Depending on what part of town I may be in I have a similar "enlightenment" several times a day. Perhaps because I'm a little bit older I have not felt his pain.

Are we being told here that this was the only accident happening to a fifteen year old on a motorbike on this auspicious day???

Scraping the barrel for a news story this is.

He doesn't even look seriously injured, a bit of pain in his wrist and some gravel rash!!!

You forgot no helmet. That's 100 baht fine extra.

L.O.S. --- L icense ? O h, S hit . just about the norm here then.

I really cant und...cheesy.gif i really cant under....cheesy.gif Oh i just cant be bothered,ive heard it all now,but from a 15 year old kid..cheesy.gifcheesy.gif

"Scotty" .......come on pal.....

Beam me up......out of this never ending "Fantasy Land" dream I keep experiencing

Enlightenment!!!!!!.....get real.......for goodness sake who makes this stuff up???

AH yes driving with the wrong head in charge. The monkey crossing the train track was not fast enough and lost his tail. When he went back to get it the next trail ran over his head. The moral is "Don't loose your head ,over a piece of tail".

Funny story, at least part of it is probably true. He didn't try to invent a stray dog crossing the street or some car cutting him off.

15 years, "his motorbike", no drivers license. I guess the ones in desperate need of "enlightenment" here are his stupid parents.

There, but for the grace of god, go I.

To all people being offended to see a 15yo drive a motorbike let me ask you: where are you living?

Every morning the large Mathayom School on the other side of the road has tens if not over a hundred of 15 yo (or so) riding a bike to school.

I guess that many, many people need enlightenment then.

As for "his" motorbike... as I see it the family's bike, more likely. Which tends to become "his" bike when Mom and Dad aren't using it and on weekends like in many Thai families with a teenage boy.

So its the girls fault for being too beautiful. This guy is future junta PM material.

Or Son, I think youre related to the bloke currently running the country.

well i guess he was "unenlightened".....chortle

I think next time he ventures out on the motorbike, he won't be so cocksure about his ability to ride it.

Best one I have heard in a long time!

article said he broke his arm

The pain in his wrist might have been him trying to relive his enlightenment.

If he was using the wrong head surely his name must have been Kryton

....tsk tsk---think of the larger picture that Buddha is teaching this youngster! Yes, a broken arm here and there...just a build-up lesson to teach him what happens WHEN HE GETS MARRIED!

All training wheels!

Has he got a license,if not will his bike be impounded ,fined ,suspension of license and parents fined for allowing underage not license holder riding motorbike

No, we don't live a nanny state here. Thank god.

When they wrap you up like a mummy you know you have had a wreck. The kid is hardly scratched up
