At the dead end of Soi Ao Nang 8 (8.042318, 98.818387) (not to be confused with Soi Nopparatthara 8) there is indeed a small shopping center being constructed. It says "opening soon". It has a couple of logos: "8 Icon" and "Galleria". It's small and no sign of what will be in it.

If they are renovating the mall that is adjacent to Blue Mango, I say that is a good thing.

Across the street is where I always used to do cart food, the mall itself truly got rundown.

A fountain in the center, a beer garden with tables and some decent shops around might not be a bad idea as there are a whole lot of hotels within walking distance.
