BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha thanked the national female volleyball team for creating the phenomenon of unity in the country and for making Thai people feel proud, said government spokesman Maj-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd on Sunday.

The prime minister, he said, believes that Thai people may feel sorry for the fact that the Thai team misses the chance to go to the Olympics in Brazil but they are not disappointed with the team and are proud of the team.

The team last crushed Peru by three games against zero and earlier defeated South Korea 3:2 but the scores they gained were not enough to earn a place in the Olympics.

Maj-Gen Sansern said that the Prime Minister has wanted Thai youths to look forward to the volleyball team as a role model.

Also, the prime minister has urged all Thais to cheer and to give moral support to Thai athletes who will join the Olympics.

Yes, the PM needs to learn to be a team player.

And the volleyball team thanks the PM for creating such disunity that the Thai people needed to focus on a winner rather than someone who bounces back and forth with no goal.

2 years on and he has done nothing... well, a lot of AA, H.R. abuse, and political oppression, ... oh, and he has tanked the economy, ...

But besides that, not much and nothing to create unity.

So now he needs to thank the V.B. team for doing that. whistling.gif

Why does he have to regularly 'hijack' the good actions and successes of Thai people for his own propaganda? angry.png

I suppose he has to do it because he has no successes of his own to boast about. Apologies, i forgot about the lottery and cycling.

I'm surprised there's been no claims that other people's good actions etc are simply because of his outstanding leadership.

If a team want's to win a game they have to have their unity:

so PM Prayut, just learn from this team and their play as your role should be the same. But you not play in a team, you just missuse your power to misstreat your people in your country and not lead them to unity and a better life: just a doctrin is now ruling this country. Too bad for this lovely country!

They did a great job, but why not just praise them for their effort, and making their families and the Thai people proud? I'm pretty sure they didn't have a political motive.

“It had become usual to give Napoleon the Credit for every Successful achievement and every stroke of good fortune. You would often hear one hen remark to another, “Under the guidance of our leader, Comrade Napoleon, I have laid five eggs in six days” or two cows, enjoying a drink at the pool, would exclaim,

“thanks to the leadership of Comrade Napoleon, how excellent this water tastes!”...”

What made the game interesting was the fifth set is only up to 15.( Thai vs Japan)

Two sets a piece up to 25.

So Thailand was 12-6 ( remember only up to 15 ) to go to games if they won through.

Red cards were issued by the referee .

If I didn't know better I would say it was rigged against the Thais.

I told my girlfriend Hitler used propaganda in Berlin decades ago and world authorities might be glad Thai team sports are not going to games in this case .

I note even soccer pits their Qualifiers against Japan again ( who they lost to in tears)

Australia too is against the Thai team.

I joked they had better get used to Red cards.

Unfortunately , the military do band wagon on sports efforts as if they show good examples of Thais as approved by guys who took over with guns.

It's a bit perverse .

Lets hope they don't get a chance in soccer either.
