Mohamed Nasheed: Former Maldives president 'given UK asylum'

LONDON: -- The former president of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, has been granted refugee status in the UK, according to his lawyer.


Nasheed, the opposition leader, was controversially jailed for 13 years under anti-terror laws last year.

He was allowed to travel to the UK to receive treatment on his spine.

Well known for his liking for Johnny Walker Black Label, at nearby island parties for his family and friends.

Probably in UK for spinal treatment because they were trying to find it. Another contradictory Muslim who finds safety in an infidel country. Pathetic from him......and the UK.
