There's lot of information (and disinformation). I need to do a border crossing very soon.

I have a multiple re-entry one from the US. I've been here before and I've usually

just crossed the border and got another two months since it can renewed twice.

I am NOT a person without a visa looking for a 15 or 30 day extension.

People are saying that you can't go across Mae Sai anymore. If I go there, and it doesn't work,

then I lose 4 months more of possibly staying in Thailand.

Should I take a plane to Laos?

Go to Chiang Khong Laos? How do I get there from Chiang Mai?

If you re-enter on of before the 'enter before' date printed on the visa you can do a border hop at Mae Sai. They will not allow out/in visa exempt (15/30 day) entry.
