I've just arrived in Chiang Mai and find myself in need of a gynecologist. Any recommendations? I've looked in the pinned threads, but no gynecologists.

I prefer a specialist who does not deliver babies.

The doctor on Loi Kroh (Loi Kroh Clinic) is not a gyno (to my knowledge) but he would be the first that I would ask for a referral or advice. Speaks very good english. Open early morning and again late afternoon.

And then there is Chiangmai Ram Hospital where they have one or two (maybe more) of pretty well every medical discipline covered.

Do I need the name of the doctor at the Loi Kroh Clinic?

I don't think so. As far as I know he's the only doctor there and he owns the clinic.

No, he is the only one there. I have tried to find the phone number but I'm afraid that I cannot put my hand on it.

I can say that the doctor is very well thought of (and recommended) amongst and by the expat community.

I've used him several times and agree that he is good.

Sorry to disagree but the Doc at Loi Kroh Clinic is questionable at best and we quit him after several very serious mistakes; not to mention that he is not a gynecologist nor perhaps even willing/qualified to recommend one. Speaky English does not a doctor make...

My wife is out of town at the moment but just last week she went in to Chiang Mai Ram Hospital for a full physical exam and one of their Docs caught a simple gynecological problem that has been a nuisance for many years and slipped by many Docs including the one at Loi Kroh Clinic who failed to refer even upon request! In fact I can almost guarantee, at least from our experience, that a request for a referral will be greeted with nothing more than grim loss-of-face silence.

The Doc at Chiang Mai Ram is also a surgeon, has scheduled surgery for my wife, and I will get his name for you as soon as she gets back home.

Please feel free to PM us...

I am in agreement here..... This Dr. ? diagnosed as flu, and prescribed for such , for myself, some years back, something which turned into a hospital stay for a much more serious problem.

But of course for the 20 or 30 baht, the certificate he gives showing you are in good health after listening to your heart, taking a blood pressure reading, and asking you how you feel, is probably worth it.

Please accept my apologies for hitting the wrong keys (two times) and putting nothing into the thread in two posts.

I and some friends have experienced incorrect diagnosis and prescription also and we no longer go there. I do know others who have had good luck and swear by the Doctor. Seems like it is a bit of hit and miss.

Wondering what was happening. :o

Sounds like you are right (hit and miss) from reading others views. The times I saw him he was always able to diagnose my problems and resolved them in 2-3 days. However they were not critical and the fact it is a clinic without full support equipment limits him. Haven't been to him in several years, prefer a hospital to a clinic now.
