i'm 50, retired with a 50,000 baht pension every month and married to a thai woman which took place in the u.s. neither of us has a thai bank account. i have a non-imm "o" visa and make visa runs to pedang besar every 3 months.

i've seen some mention of a marriage certificate translation requirement. is this necessary if in english for obtaining an extension? also my non-imm "o" multi-entry visa expires on 12 nov 2004 and my next visa run has to be before 11 may.

i've read that you have to be within 30 days of expiry before applying for an extension. expiration of multi-visa or border run? thanks.

Get a letter from your pension fund evidencing your pension, and take it to your Embassy and get it notorized. Take it, and your wife, her ID card, wedding papers, and house register book for the wife, into Immigration. Handle yourself well, be tidy and polite, you might just persuade 'em to do it sooner rather than later. Tell 'em you have no ambition to keep visiting Malaysia.

You are within the 30 day window (stay expires May 10) so as the dr says do it now. You are likely to be asked for photos together at home.
