Strike action over changes to the French labour law have disrupted many cities across the country.

Tens of thousands gathered in Paris for the eighth time in two months.

“Divisions are emerging inside the government as Euro 2016 approaches,” said Olivier Besancenot, former head of the far-left New Anti-Capitalist Party. “You can’t have two and a half months of mobilization – this is the eighth strike, strikes are continuing in key sectors – imagine the tournament being held without fuel, without cars, without transportation or even without lights.”

Protesters met with waves of tear gas as police fought bands of violent masked marchers in the French capital.

Police arrested 77 people as tens of thousands made their way from the Bastille plaza through eastern Paris.

Volley after volley of tear gas filled the air, as authorities struggled to quell public anger at a government attempt to change the way France views work.

The reforms are aimed at creating jobs, but opponents say they would worsen working conditions, make it easier for companies to fire workers and increase unemployment.

The lazy French want as little work as possible with enough money to spend on their many days off, with job security and a no fire policy for life.Ah Yes, a socialist society at its best..Only a slightly small step up from Greece.

Its about time , things changed , we are expected to work for less in a country where the cost of living is constantly rising,

Your quotation could apply to just about any country in the world except for the United States. Ooops sorry they have become experts at fudging employment numbers. 33% there are looking for work but cannot find any. I wonder why not when the US claims it is creating 200,000 new jobs every month. Surely the government would not lie to us would they?

Time for history to repeat itself and introduce some of these politicians to Madame Guillotine. It seems so many politicians are loosing their heads when it comes to the general populous but they always seem to feather their own nest.Lazy socialist French well maybe a little but they want their share of the huge profits businesses are making. The French government wants to ensure that big business can continue growing in leaps and bounds without sharing the prosperity. Oh dear this pertains to all the countries in the world not just France.

Oh dear threaten to disrupt Euro 2016 fans how terrrible. Come you French make sacrifices so the masses can enjoy Euro 2016 whatever that is. Your just being selfish standing in the way of this bacchanalian style of entertainment. Its usually the after game fiasco I cannot stand with fist fights looting and burning cars by sore losers and even people being killed. Kind of reminds me of the Christians being sacrificed at the Coliseum in Rome.

What a relief to have a holiday from the moronic garbage that is soccer. Corporate sponsored war by proxy followed by guys who haven't figured out they like men more than women
