BANGKOK: A distraught mother, angry at what she perceives to be slow progress in the investigation of her son's murder, went to call for justice at TV Channel 3 yesterday.

Clutching a framed picture of her dead son she held a fruit paring knife to her own throat threatening to kill herself if justice is not done, Thai media reported

The drama happened at the Maleenon Building in the cramped area of the tenth floor car park.

It took police, soldiers and foundation workers called to the downtown Bangkok TV offices more than an hour before they were able to get the knife from the woman and take her to Thong Lor station.

Named only as "Noi" she says that those responsible for her son's death on New Year's eve last year are walking around her Soi Samakhee area as if nothing had happened. Her son was kicked in the neck with his head smashed into the ground. He died from brain injuries after suffering a severe beating in what the mother claimed was an attack by ten youths.

She said she had come to Channel 3 after no arrests had been made and there was no progress in the case.

Reporters were later told that in fact three arrests have already been made and an arrest warrant is out for a fourth person. Apparently the mother - known to them as Mekhla - had already tried to pressure the National Police Bureau before her actions at Channel 3.

Police, arrest and then??? Here in Chiang Mai the police is too lazy to go after people who they have issued an arrest warrant. They think issuing a warrant is enough.

Thnks she's been watching too many melodramitic Thai soaps and thinks that's the normal way to behave.

The Army needs to take some action on those thugs ... and perhaps relocate the police to some inactive post because they are so good at being inactive.

If her son's killers are walking around as if nothing has happened then I'm not surprised!

I wonder when the supposed arrests took place.

My heart goes out to this woman in her grief.

Help more easily comes to Mercedes driving celebs who kill people on the roads. Even ghosts come to speak and help them at funerals!

I would seek my own justice ,Thai police good for what ?

Agree..

If you know the people that did it..

Why not...

And you know all about what the police are or are not doing throughout CM because of your observations from a stool in the local??

The Mother could, of course, provide evidence against those she "knows" assaulted her son.

Descriptions, names and addresses would be helpful or perhaps she could assist by pointing to those she claims are "guilty" but but she sees walking around.
