viewing 35mm negatives.

Recommended Posts

I need to go through my old negatives to find a particular period. Is there a quick and easy way to do this by knocking up a viewer just to find the ones I am looking for. Viewing quality is not important. Cost is.rolleyes.gif

This is what you need. I got this on in the US but you may be able to find one here. I have several thousand slides that I took over the years and I used this gadget to download to a data stick then all to my computer.

I thought the OP wanted just a cheap quick way to look at some negatives. blink.png

If he wants to spend money there are numerous options for a dedicated negative/slides scanner. I bought this one for converting my slides to digital.

Googling brings up a few make your own viewers but the I think the viewing the negative against a white sheet of paper with a magnifying glass might be the simplest option biggrin.png

Very interesting subject for me as I have hundreds of slides and 35 mm negatives. I view the slides through a cheapo slide viewer I have, one at a time, however it is not much use when I put a negative in it as it just shows exactly that, a negative. is there

anyway to change the negative view into a positive?

Well you could take your negatives to a photo shop and get them printed rolleyes.gif

Another way that might work is to scan the negative into your computer and then use the "Invert color" option.

This is actually to make a negative from a positive but I guess it should work in reverse.
