Labor Protection and Welfare Dept to take measures under Safe Work Thailand campaign

BANGKOK, 3 June 2016 (NNT) - Labor Minister Sirichai Ditthakul has instructed the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare to take measures to rapidly reduce road accidents during rainy season which will jeopardize the safety of passengers of public transports.

The Labor Ministry has joined hands with five other ministries and nine departments to implement the Safe Work Thailand campaign and has instructed the Department of Skill Development to determine standards for public transport drivers.

The campaign aims to make public transports more convenient and safer and to establish confidence among passengers. The ministry is yet to control the safety standards in all aspects including the public transport drivers and equipment on board.

The labor minister assigned officials to amend rules and regulations pertaining to public transport services to ensure safety of the passengers in accordance with international standards.

"Labor Minister Sirichai Ditthakul has instructed the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare to take measures to rapidly reduce road accidents during rainy season which will jeopardize the safety of passengers of public transports."

Hope this works better than their Rain Making measures. Which, if it had been successful, would have caused more road accidents. Sometimes failures have their hidden rewards.

"...determine standards for public transport drivers."

Such as....No more than 1 case of Red Bull under the drivers' seats?

involving too many ministries, all that will happen is a road block in the paper chase department , what would be a genuine effort would be the establishment of a Worksafe department, that has complete control over all work safe procedures and the issuing of special licenses like Crane and forklift etc , it would cover a wide ranging area , including electrical, building rules, anything to do with safe working procedures, which you can include public transport , for too long Thailand has not cased the added luxury of international assistance , these are readily available , not all good thinkers reside in Thailand.............................................coffee1.gif

Reduce road accidents during rainy season

Time to ground the Royal Rainmaking Air Force and launch the Royal Anti-Rainmaking Air Force, albeit the same aircraft.

This was a strategy used by the Chinese to ensure blue skies above Beijing for the 60th anniversary of communist party rule.
