Officials to interrogate Tiger Temple abbot

BANGKOK, 8 June 2016 - The Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police is preparing to summon the abbot of the Tiger Temple for interrogation, in addition to individuals believed to be investors supporting the temple's tiger-breeding activities.

Deputy Police Commissioner Pol Gen Chalermkiat Srivorakan recently reported on the progress of legal action following the recent discovery of tiger carcasses at Wat Pa Luangta Bua Yanasampanno, or Tiger Temple, in Kanchanaburi province. He revealed that the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation had filed a complaint with authorities to take legal action against the temple's unlicensed possession of wildlife. The case is currently pending a probe into method of breeding and whether there were genetic manipulations.

The Deputy Police Commissioner also mentioned rumors of a group of private investors, particularly an individual known as "Kuang," who had provided assistance to the temple. He said the authorities are investigating whether the individuals were involved in the trade of the tigers in the temple. He disclosed that officials are currently interrogating Kuang and have issued warrants for five other individuals, three of whom have already reported themselves to authorities.

Officials are still tracking the whereabouts of the remaining two suspects. In addition, investigators are preparing to summon the abbot of the Tiger Temple for interrogation.

Talk is cheap whistling.gif need to find him first clap2.gifcheesy.gif

Summoning and him turning up are two entirely different things.

Are we going to see another please come please please, and then noshow?

I thought he was MIA?

So they are going to summon the abbot of the temple, given their track record on that I assume he will turn up sometime in Uncle Toos lifetime.

If he is suspected of illegal activity, why do they not just arrest him?! The mind boggles.

Wonder which part of the world the Abbot is visiting this month? Picture below is from his past travels.

If he abbot did show up no one in their right mind would believe anything he said.

If as much effort and time were spent preparing and tracking down those suspected of being involved in illegal activity, as the seemly daily media interviews, the bib might get some postive results, maybe even a capture and a conviction.

But when you look at the bib reshuffle and the boondoggle that was /is there is a lot of fickle finger pointing that should be going on, with a massive reduction in force, being the outcome.

Looks like the Abbot will be tried in absentia. He is far too important to waste his time with these trivial alleged charges. Yet another case that will be swept under the carpet in the fullness of time...coffee1.gif

Just had a thought... Normally when all the HiSo's are guilty of a crime, they all go to the temple for the obligatory atonement publicity photos. Where does an Abbot go to atone for his sins, Paris, London, Vegas...cheesy.gif
