Deputy PM Wissanuto educate provinces on charter act

BANGKOK, 9 June 2016 (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam is preparing to travel to different parts of the country to educate people on the draft constitution and the referendum.

Dr. Wissanu said he planned to answer questions Public Referendum Act, starting in Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The Deputy Prime Minister explained that Nakhon Si Thammarat is the most ready compared to other provinces. The Election Commission (EC) will issue the schedule and the military will designate the venues.

Representatives from the government, the EC and the Constitution Drafting Commission will travel alongside Dr. Wissanu. The general public, local politicians, and activists will be invited to participate in the Q&A meetings.

When asked about the budget for the referendum, the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that both the PR campaign and the referendum would need no more than three billion baht, dismissing a rumor that 10 billion baht had been approved for these two activities.
