Drunk Driver Claims Two More Lives on Thepprasit Road
Story by Albert Jack

PATTAYA: -- At 5.30am on the morning of June 10 the police and Sawangboriboon medics rushed to a serious accident on Soi Thepprasit, South Pattaya.

At the scene they discovered the body of forty-two year old Somsak Kongsiri and an unidentified female, aged between 30-35 years old, who was seriously injured and although medics performed emergency CPR she too died at the scene.

Mr Kongsiri’s red Honda Wave motorcycle was lying in the road with heavy rear end damage and three other motorcycles had been caught up in the carnage. One-hundred yards up the road was a black Toyota Fortuner registered in Nakornrachasima with the front caved in.

Eyewitness Mr Anon Rattanarom, a thirty-one year old motorbike taxi driver, said the Fortuner had been speeding, heading away from Sukhumvit Road, when the motorcycle cut in front of the car before being hit and dragged fifty meters along the tarmac. The driver of the car, twenty-three year old Pipat Sriwicha, then lost control and crashed into the other parked motorcycles.

Drunk driver speeding , motor cycle driver not bothering to look behind before turning , just another day on Thailands roads .

^^^ I think you can leave the blame at drunk driver speeding.

they should rename Thepprasit Road Thepprasit racewaybah.gif

Murderous drivers and riders of Thailand.

Stupid is stupid does.

We see this every day on the Thai roads with or with out alcohol.

same same. coffee1.gif

So much "over-compensation" when in the process of having an accident, about to have an accident, or have hit another vehicle.

This "over-compensation" accounts for much of the "aftermath".

Yes its a very dangerous long straight road that many regard as a racetrack.

Hard to pinpoint with the given info. How much room did the car driver have when the motorcycle cut in front of him ? Seems to me like there is a bit of blame to be shared around here :(

So you say.

Don't need to be drunk to kill on the roads here. it just helps sometimes.

Him being drunk does not mean he caused the accident.

But it does mean he will be blamed.

If you drive and ride here long enough, you will know what is the true killer on the roads.wai2.gif

Why didn't he run away?

Why didn't he run away?

Maybe to pissed

The only solution is a very high fine for drunk driving.

I live on this road, bloody race track at night. Always have to keep your eyes everywhere, scary.

Locals say it is cursed, true it is, by idiot drivers.
