Yesterday went to Chaeng Watana Immigration office for another extension of stay based on retirement. No problems at all-

Paperwork needed:

-TM7 with one picture attached

-Income Statement-affirmation from US Embassy

-Copies of all pages in the passport that had stamps plus the original arrival card and passport identity page-each page signed

-1900 Baht

-Signed 2 Forms- one was the overstay regs and the other a statement indicating my vitals were correct (date of birth etc etc)

I had other documentation on hand- proof of pension and proof of address- it was not asked and I did not offer it.

I was not asked to provide another proof of address as I provided one last time; or fill out the long questionnaire that has been discussed. The extensions were not numbered. Several Westerners there all had the same experience. All docs in order- no problems.

Arrived at 10 AM- out at around 1:30 PM. Good for another year.

Proof of Address was house registration and wife's ID card as she the owner. Could also use a rental agreement or some items with your name on it that was mailed to that address- electric/water bill.

I hate to get a sore butt waiting so for three years I monitored how many people per hour are processed in the Non "O". So, FYI ... when all application desks are working they go through about, on average,12 applications per hour. Sometimes they move a little faster and sometimes a little slower. So, check your number and go get a cup of coffee.

Thanks Thaidream. I'll be applying first time for a retirement 'visa' next month and this helps a lot.

My experience today for same retirement/paperwork was the same except recall at least 3 single pages having to be signed (several needing some data entry) but nothing much different than other years. Arrived at 0911 and got number 45 with 23 in queue ahead and processed by about 1040 (but chief in meeting so told to come back between 15-1600 to receive signed passport). At 1545 departed and numbers had got to about 140 and all seemed to have been processed. No taxi so made the 20 minute walk to CAT walkover to get taxi going my way for ride home.

My experience today not at CW. Last year asked for every copy of every page of passport even blank ones. This year turn up with them done, not asked for. The two newish forms, one all in Thai signed, no idea what they are but they are not provided before and cannot be downloaded. Off upstairs for another tm30, all done before ready and with mrs house book, photocopies of book and id card, ploblem no record of me on the system, well that's funny been here 10 years and did the tm30 last time. Fill two more forms in same as downstairs I think, no time to try and read them anyway, just sign. Back downstairs for retirement extension and re entry. Long queue for re entry photo and data on the system, they have it all on paper of course and photo already on the form. Back outside only to see people with an agent who came in long after us leaving already, I wonder how that happens All done in an hour and a 45 mins, used to take half the time at Suan Phlu.

90 days is usually in and out, another new info about the foreigner form with photo needed and now 5 pp copies for 90 day. Refuse to put anything on the form except name and address, i am not giving them any address back home, bank details or any other info, accepted no problem that's it. Seems to be more forms and run around every year.

Go outside and there is an airport police van with two falangs locked up in the back with suitcases looking very glum,

If the OP had given a bad report, even if factual, the Thai bashing policeman would have been down on him like a ton of bricks.

CW is good and seems to go by rules/law. 6 extensions for retirement and always routine with no surprises. Always used the income method and never had to provide proof of address. Only what the OP stated.

Yew CW is good and professional, but offices do not all play by the same rules, why do some need photocopies of PP just to do a 90 day report when there seems no requirement for it, just to mention one small variant.

Tuesday went to Phuket Imm. for extension due to retirement. Arrived 9:30am,got no. 13-needed copies of all p/p pages,TM7,statement and letter from bank stamped and signed. Last year supplied proof of address but not required this year. Out at 11:30am and told pick up P/P after 1:00pm next day. All good,picked up P/P and back to Patong.Very good service-oh I had to sign the overstay form but NO other. Patong Imm. yesterday for re-entry-in 11:20am-out 11:30am.Again very good service.

Sri Racha seem to be pretty efficient too. They frequently have large numbers but crank through pretty quickly. They have lanes to deal with different services which helps. Sometimes they recognise a document in your hand that they know is a simple stamp & return or stamp & pass on like a 90 day report or an old to new passport visa stamp transfer (if you are holding 2 passports & not much else). They then jump people in it get the queues shorter. They mostly work fast & smart.
