i guys just lookig for a thai writer to translate a little message to friends

Featured Replies

hi guys ive just returned from the best time of my life out in the land of smiles, everyone I met out there keeps asking when I'm going to come back so id like to be able to put a little statuts on facebook in thai writing saying something along the lines of "I miss Thailand very much and want to come back soon" or just generally something nice to let everyone know I haven't forget about them, I can speak thai pretty well so I'm sold and even type it in English but I would rather type it to them in thai so they see ive at least tried to put some sort of effort in

if anyone has any idea's of what nice things I could say and how you write them in thai would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much
bookie

Bit lazy that you can't write your own message to your friends when you do speak the language so well?

If you don't read Thai then no reason to try to send a message written in Thai. Keep it simple and then they can use software to translate. If you are like me and can read Thai but can't type in Thai then use the same online translation sources to find your words in Thai and then copy and paste.

translation always comes out wrong

Since your thai is so amazing after a short trip, just google each word you want to translate and put them in the order that you use for your vocal thai

no one said my thai is amazing I also know that a lot of times thai comes out backwards when spoken wrong, don't worry about it, forget it asked

I like your positive attitude about Thailand, and your desire to spread the message, because Thailand needs quality tourists.

"I miss Thailand very much and want to come back soon" = ฉันคิดถึงประเทศไทยมากและต้องการที่จะกลับมาเร็ว ๆ นี้

Credit - Google Translate

The actual translation to that is

ฉันคิดถึงประเทศไทยมากและต้องการที่จะกลับมาเร็ว ๆ นี้

I think the United States and want to come back soon...............

i think yaak glap maa reo reo makes more sense

or you can make a sentence with wang(wish)

i really need to buy new thai alphabet stickers for my keyboard

เพื่อนผมทุกๆคน คิดถึงพบกันใหม่.

To all my friends, miss you all and see you next time.

A complete waste of time sending this, coz you wont understand the replies.

Hint, dont be a facebook stalker.

And pls dont come here asking for us to translate the replies.

I don't mind people asking for this sort of thing at all, the subsequent discussion could teach us learners something.

I would say this,

สวัสดีเพื่อนเพื่อนทุกคนครับ คิดถึงเมืองไทยมาก ๆ หวังว่าจะได้กลับในไม่ชา

I have put มา because I feel that it should be seen from the reader's point of view.

I say ได้กลับ because you wish to be in the position of having returned.

forgot a tone mark on that last one tgeezer wai2.gif

Crickey, it's a good job I did, I was hoping for a little more criticism.

In English you can use come and go as you please, but Thai is much more restrictive.

In Thai ไป and มา is almost always from the speaker's point of view, not the reader's.

So let's say you're abroad and someone in Thailand asks you if you want to come to Thailand, then in English you can say both "I want to go to Thailand" and "I want to come to Thailand"

In Thai if they ask you อยากมาเมืองไทยไหม, you can only say อยากไปเมืองไทย (that is, if you want to of course :) ), not อยากมา
