chiangrai Posted June 13, 2016 Share Posted June 13, 2016 I'm on a visa run to Savanakhet.I flew from Bangkok to Mukdahan vai Ubon Ratchasima with Nok Air but now I see that the flights back are booked out. I am trying to find out the best way to fly back to Bangkok. As far as I can see the cheapest way is to bus to Nakon Phanom and fly Air Asia from there. Is that right or does anybody know a better way. If so my next question is can any body recomend a cheap hotel near Nakon Phanom airport in case I have to stay there overnight. JackThompson Posted June 13, 2016 Share Posted June 13, 2016 If you are going to be there another night anyway, a comfortable seat on a VIP bus that runs overnight from Mukdahan might get you back to BKK before the next flight would. The seats are 3-across, 2+1, and I recommend choosing a seat by itself, which offers a bit more privacy. Yes, it's a long-haul, but I usually sleep through most of it. Have another look, it's not Songkran but deep low season. Just two examples. Tonight, 19:50h, Thai Smile to Suvarnabhumi, 1250 Baht. No sign of overbooking. I recommend it. So the question remains how to get from Mukdahan to Ubon. Should also not be magic? Too late for today it seems. For Nakhon Phanom anyway (16:45h) Tommorow Air Asia 10:10h and 16:45h not sold out.
