PWA will secure its own raw water sources for tap water production

BANGKOK: -- Predicting little rains in the next couple of months, the newly-appointed governor of Provincial Waterworks Authority has assured tap water production will not be affected and the PWA will try to secure new raw water sources as reserves.

Gen Prawit says he will not use Section 44 to deal with UDD members

BANGKOK: -- Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan said Tuesday that he would not resort to Section 44 of the interim charter to deal with members of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) for their persistent attempt to set up centres across the country to prevent cheating in the referendum.

Academics call on NCPO head to use article 44 to enact student loan reform

BANGKOK, 15 June 2016 (NNT) - Academic economists have suggested that the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) cancel the student loan fund in favor of the student loan fund that deducts payments from future income, in order to effectively management student debt and reduce litigation against students.

Three weeks on, patience thin for parents of dead schoolgirls

CHIANG RAI — More than three weeks have passed since a fire killed 17 girls at a boarding school for impoverished hill tribe children, and police have yet to file a charge against anyone over the incident.
