Quickie....

Can a 90 day report be done in another province (on holiday), or must it be your local office?

Thanks

You have to do it at your local office.

You can report in person within 15 days before or 7 after the due date.

You could report by post or via the Internet from anywhere.

Thanks, I almost always do it by post to CW, but my next report is slap bang in the middle of my holiday. Send it by post from another province would be ok then?

Although you are supposed to do it at the local office, but it is pretty much up to the officers if you try it at another place. I have done it many times in Pattaya but I am not located there so that worked fine. Also done it one time at CW but long ago.

The times in Pattaya was quiet recent after they tightened the rules and set the reporting to be at local offices a few years back. So I think if you explain the situation at the office you are holidaying at I think they will be ok with it.

I suspect that was more than a year ago. Immigration issued a directive early last year that reports can only be done where you got your extension unless you formally change your address to a new office.

Just make sure your return envelope is addressed to your home address registered with Immigration.

Your new report slip should be waiting in your post box when you return from your holiday.

I spend half the year in Nakhon Phanom (where I got my retirement visa) and half the year living south of Prachuab Khirikhan town. When I am in the south, I report to the Immigration Office near the Thai-Burmese border. I have done this for three years, and the Immigration officers have asked for nothing other than my passport. I also renewed my driving licence in Prachuab Khirikhan, although it was issued in Nakhon Phanom. In that case, the Transport Office asked for proof of residence and the local village headman gave me a copy of his house registration which I took to Immigration and which was accepted without any problem. Hence, as other people say, some Immigration Offices are quite flexible.

Perpare a letter and supporting documents and place it in an envelope and mail it two weeks before whereever you are by registered mail.

No problem.

Explain to them you are traveling.

Make an extra copy of the letter and docs and take them with you along with your passport in the event the Police ask for supporting documentation.
