Three new hot springs found in Krabi

KRABI, 16 June 2016 (NNT)-Three new hot springs have recently been discovered at Khao Pra-Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary in Krabi province.

The hot springs are located in Khlomg Tom district above Khlong Khao Kao canal which provides water to the famous emerald pool. Each one is situated approximately 10 meters apart with water temperatures recorded at around 40 degrees Celsius.

Member of Krabi Environmental and Cultural Preservation Committee Niwat Wattanayomnaporn said the area around the three hot springs was once an active volcano. Other hot springs in Khlong Tom are also remnants of volcanic activity.

He added that what differentiates these hot springs from the others is the fact they are adjacent to the canal. Mr. Niwat also believes there are more hot springs to be discovered in Krabi.
