How long I can stay on a METV visa?

Featured Replies

Was wondering if anyone can help me figure out how long I can dare to book a flight from arrival to onward going home? The way I understand the METV visa has 6 month validelity. I want to stay in Thailand for 6-7 months. So when I book a flight the itinerary will show 180 days from arrival to departure (going home). I know I must travel to a neighboring country every 59 days to get restampted another 60 days. So my question is when I apply for a METV visa with the thai embassy in my home country and they see my itinerary of 180 days will this cause them to deny my METV visa? And will the airport give me any problems boarding the plane at the airport? I'm open to all help...

You can stay up to almost 9 months if you enter on or just before the day the visa expires (after 6 months). This would give you another 60 days + 30 if you extend for 1,900 baht.

PS: So you shouldn´t expect problems because of your itinerary. That doesn´t mean though that the embassy mght not come up with other hoops for you to jump through. smile.png

You could always opt for a SETV extend it and then go to a neighouring country for another SETV which you can then extend again for 30 days.
