Been in Thailand 20+ years.... Check.

Married to UK wife.... 15years. Check.

2 Thai adopted kids for 9 years... Check.

53 year old Kiwi.... Double Check.

Looking to sell my company of 15years in Thailand, but want to stay without getting frisked every 90 days.

Which is the best visa option?

Retirement has been up'd to 55 right, dammit?

Does a dependent visa work with a foreign wifey?

Would appreciate some thoughts from you very clever people out there....

The age to get an extension of stay based upon retirement is still 50 years old or over. It seems that would be your best option if you can meet the financial requirements of 800k baht in a Thai bank or proof of 65k baht income or a combination of the two totaling 800k baht.

Retirement status is 50 years and above.

Simple to apply for.

800,000 baht in the bank OR 65,000 monthly income or a combination of both.

Once you have a 1 year extension of stay (not a visa) based on retirement (over 50) your wife can apply for an extension of stay as your spouse.

That will be handy,

Thanx.

An extension based on retirement would probably be the best option but if you have legally adopted your Thai children you might be able to get an extension of stay as a parent. The advantage being that you only need 400K in the bank or an income of 40K pm.
