WWF calls on Thailand to protect its wild tiger population

BANGKOK, June 21 2016 (NNT) - Thailand has been cited by the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) as home to one of the five most fertile habitats for tigers. The non-governmental organization has called for understanding from all sectors to effectively restore the tiger population.

Drunk drivers now must clean hospital morgues, observe real action at emergency rooms

BANGKOK: -- The Department of Probation yesterday officially launched a program for 100 drunk drivers to clean hospital morgues in order to remind them of the consequences of their irresponsible driving that could be danger to lives of others sharing the same roads.

Police commander orders all officers thoroughly read draft charter

Heavy traffic causes about 200 passengers to miss flight as weatherman predicts more rains in Bangkok in the evening

16 marine parks closed to tourists during the monsoon season

THAILAND -- The National Parks, Wildlife and Plants Conservation Department has ordered the closure of 16 marine parks in nine southern and eastern provinces during the monsoon season effective as of today (Tuesday) until October and November.

Gen Anupong is ready to cooperate in a probe on GT200 “bogus” bomb detectors deal

Interior Minister Anupong Paochinda said today that he is ready to cooperate with the Office of the Auditor-General, the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Government’s Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate the army’s procurement of GT200 “bogus” bomb detectors several years ago to determine whether the procurement was transparent or not.
