NCPO cracks down on criminal activity

BANGKOK, 21 June 2016 (NNT) - The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has instructed security units to monitor and prevent any activities related to corruption, violence, gambling and narcotics.

NCPO Spokesperson Col. Winthai Suvaree and his deputy, Col Sirichan Ngathong, recently held a press conference regarding the council's meeting at the Secretariat of the NCPO.

They revealed that NCPO Secretary-General Gen. Teerachai Nakwanich ordered all security units, as well as provincial authorities, to follow the government and the NCPO’s safety guidelines.

All relevant authorities are expected to pay more attention to social problems and criminal activity, responding with swift legal action. The NCPO spokespersons also cautioned the public not to trust in any media content that could instigate social unrest.

The public relations arm of the government was instructed to convey useful news updates and information that are beneficial to the people's daily lives. The NCPO spokespersons said the government is determined to reach out and help the people in every way possible.

The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has instructed security units

Has anyone tipped off the NCPO what the police is doing in other countries yet? Such a smart move to have made some law in the security industry that saw a loss of 40% in their force and now wanting the remaining 60% to pick up the slack of what the police is supposed to do.

Swear to god a 5 year old can perform on this amazing level.

How come the Government / NCPO needs to instruct people on the need to do what they already should be doing anyway.

That is crackdown on anything not related to G200's or the military.

But always very selective!

NCPO cracks down on criminal activity

Oh please...

This crack down seems as if there is a echo to the story? Heard this not long ago. Maybe the people that are supposed to be cracking down have short memories.

I can only imagine what the reaction would be if a military spokesman got on the TV in the US, and made an announcement like this. It would be pure chaos.

I am reminded for some reason of the cinema classic, "Mars Attacks".

Oh crackdown! Pull up your pants
