Resigning from current company cancelling work permit procedure

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have been working for my current Thai company for nearly 9 years

I am British and officially married to a Thai wife.

I have a flight already booked for the 27 July and plan to resign in the next few days.

From what I can remember I am allowed to have 7 days after my work permit is cancelled. So in my resignation letter I have put down 21st July as my final day (giving about 3 weeks notice, and I can have about 6 days to relax before my flight). So HR will take me to the BOI to cancel my work permit on 21st July.

Question: Is it still 7 days?

Another quick question: Things haven't been very good with this company for the last couple of years and I have had problems with upper management over work related issues. My concern is that when I resign in the next few days. They might just cancel my work permit on that day. That would leave a few weeks away from my flight out on the 27 July. How could I stay in Thailand until the 27 July without overstaying?

Many thanks for any suggestions.

thought you had to apply for the 7 days!

The one stop center for BOI companies still gives 7 days.
