I am renewing my extension based on marriage on 22nd August at Jomtien. The last day of my visa is the 30th August.

I will go and try to get it 4 weeks later on 23rd September.

I am planning to fly to the UK for 10 days on 25th September.

If it is not ready by the 23rd Spetember, will they just give me another month's stamp in my passport whilst it is under consideration, or should I not travel until I have the extension in my passport.

The re-entry permit would be fine if I have a stamp for another 4 weeks as I would apply for the permit on the 23rd September.

Thanks for your help

If your extension was not approved by the 23rd of September they normally would not do another under consideration stamp that you could get a re-entry permit for.

It would be best if you applied for your extension earlier than the 22nd of August. You can apply up to 30 days early.

Thanks Ubonjoe for the advice.

The trouble is my 400k money in the bank is not not seeded until 22nd August as I could only move it over on June 22nd.

You could apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife (no financial requirement). It will be granted on on August 22nd but apply from August 31st. Buy a single entry re-entry permit for you trip to the UK. Then when you return to Thailand you can apply for the 1 year extension.

You can apply for your extension from Mon 1st August (30 days before expiry).

You should be able to collect it at the beginning of September, well before your flight to the UK.

Don't forget to apply for a re-entry permit TM8 (single 1,000 multiple 3,800) at the same time, as elviajero advised.
