Father drugged and raped 8 year old daughter, say Trang police

TRANG -- Police in Trang in Southern Thailand say that scientific forensic evidence points to the father being responsible in the death of an eight year old girl last month.

The girl died in hospital from a drug overdose after being given a fizzy drink laced with Ya Ba and then raped. It happened at her home with the father originally saying he was sleeping and knew nothing of the attack, reported Daily News.

Before the girl died it was reported that she had named a friend and close neighbor of her father called First as being responsible. Police said that First will not face any charges in relation to the incident through lack of evidence.

Trang police spokesman Daoloi Meuandech said yesterday that the case against the father had been prepared for court. He will face charges of administering the drugs that killed her and raping the girl.

Daoloi added that all parties involved in the case would be informed of developments shortly. But he said that scientific evidence all points to the father. There is no evidence to implicate the friend and neighbor, who was the first suspect after the father had claimed he was sleeping out back in the house when the incident happened. However, if further evidence comes to light the case against him would be reopened.

The case file was sent to the court on Friday, he said.

Following his arrest last month the father reportedly tried to commit suicide in police custody. Later, his wife and other children along with a lawyer appeared with placards outside the jail where he is being held saying he was innocent and imploring authorities to release him.

The only thing I can say with some certainty is that anything the police say or do is suspect.

The only outcome that would be fair and reasonable for all involved, is the death penalty. Quick, and decisive action. The man who committed this act self revoked his right to breathe oxygen.

They were so fast to proclaim they have the killer

Now they don't want to lose face

and don't care they are destroying the remainder of the happiness of a poor and hard hit family

It's not unusual for a mother to protect a child molesting husband. Factors such as loss of husband, failure as a wife and mother, loss of income, loss of face, etc. may be motive(s) for doing so.

I'm sure you were equally disgusted by the horrible double homicide of the two Brits on Kho Tao. Yes, the prosecution got the conviction they were after, despite on-going legitimate concerns about the facts of the matter. Two young Burmese men now sit on death row.

I'm no apologist, and the sadistic murderer(s) of the girl in this case deserves the harshest penalty available....as long as the cops again don't touch up the evidence to hide a sloppy investigation. Already, there appears to be some doubts about that.

But, some lynch members of the hang em high brigade have already deliberated and come to a convenient verdict.

If she was raped.Then what about the DNA.But also the girl said it was the neighbour.I dont understand the reporting on this site.Maybe it was the father and the neighbour.

If that is true, then the mother should be jailed as well for falsely accusing the neighbour of this horrible crime. But that would leave the other children virtually orphan. A tragedy without end.
