UDON THANI: -- A Sakorn Nakorn woman couldn't wait for her divorce settlement - she decided to sell drugs to get money so that she could go and work in Taiwan, Udon police were told.

Patcharathida Jantasut, 39, was caught with 329 Ya Ba pills and 5.5 kilos of ganja at her apartment room in Udon on Tuesday, reported Thairath. Udon police were acting on a tip off after reports of a woman selling drugs.

Patcharathida said that she had been married to a surveyor for a year but he had another woman and they were due to divorce at the end of June. He said he would pay her 100,000 as a settlement. She said that she moved out and rented a room alone. She told police that she needed 90,000 baht urgently to arrange work in Taiwan and when a friend called Oi suggested selling drugs she jumped at the chance.

Oi arrived with her husband along with seven kilos of ganja and 400 Ya Ba. Her first sale to a man called Best netted 5,000 baht - it was the first time she had done this, she added.

She was charged with possession of class one drugs with intent to sell.

Well, she no long er needs money to go to Taiwan at least.

It's the 29th today.

Chief I missed by that much?

So was Husband also arrested?

Well, she no long er needs money to go to Taiwan at least.

No. She would be getting free lodging and food for quite a few years...

So was Husband also arrested?

Whose husband? This story is about Patcharathida who is now living alone, her husband has a new model.

She obtained the drugs from Oi and her husband, of whom no further mention is made.

So was Husband also arrested?

he was probably the one who had her arrested, and made sure by being a witness

Sounds like it was Oi's husband, not hers. But she obviously gave them both up.

...yeah right.....

...first time......

...like all the virgins in the country too......

A proverb no brain no headache, many of thais have that problem.

You are welcome a- house to be N B

As usual, it's the poor and desperate who suffer as a result of current drug policies. If the illicit drugs trade wasn't so profitable then Patcharathida Jantasut would probably have worked hard in a normal job (or look for one) instead.

Illicit drug prices need to be brought down such that the poor and desperate would less likely be tempted into the illicit drugs trade. Decriminalization of illicit drugs is one way to do that. Are there any other ways?
