It's been described in the linked article as 'National No Alcohol Day'. In an ideal world, that would likely be country-wide. But who knows??......................... I knew I had seen this somewhere. To me this sounds like a "show event". The national day, which will be held on July 15, will be officially held at the Central Plaza West Gate, Nonthaburi Province. A "national day" celebrated at a mega mall Quite sure it's not a day with general alcohol sales prohibition. What will this bring? Another banned zones law? the government plans to put more regulations and preventative measures in place to help people quit drinking or avoid alcohol. MrDK
19th July is a Budhist Day, 18th July is an "extra" holiday, nothing about 15th July. 19th AND 20th are both Buddhist holidays and bar closure will be mandated. 18th is a "bridge day" like Friday after Thanksgiving Thursday is in the US and will generally only affect government (possibly immigration), schools and major bank branches. 15th really is anyone's guess as to bar closures as similar calls have unsuccessfully been made before, namely Songkran. There is a website "out there" attempting to keep a finger on the pulse concerning bar closures.
BudRight
There is a website "out there" attempting to keep a finger on the pulse concerning bar closures. But it isn't ThaiVisa, because TV is full of killjoy cripples that despise youth, exuberance and fun - all the things they lack.

No. It's just a propaganda and exhortation exercise. There will be a few sactimonious d**k-head students in special T-shirts prancing about at the venue mentioned in the article, and that will be about it. Just put it down alongside national no-smoking days, pure-thought days and other well meant nonsense.
