Hello people. I just booked a couple of plain tickets to KL this Friday to hopefully get a TV, and see a little of the country. Flying back on Tuesday morning. I have been rather stupid in booking it this way - I guess I wasnt thinking clearly at the time - but we dont arive untill lunchtime Friday and then leave early Tuesday. I doubt then, that I will be able to apply? I assumed it would be ok to apply and get the visa on Monday but its just dawned on me that i may need to apply one morning, and collect the following afternoon? If this is the case, my time scale here is wrong if you follow....

I also just read an (albiet old) post about the consulate in KL being a bit of a pain in issuing TV's. Apparently even just for single entry TV's they demand letters of employment and stuff and generaly just 'dont like' issuing TV's. I dont know how true this is.

With these two things in mind (leaving myself littler time to apply/recieve and KL making it hard to apply) would it be ok if i simply fly back into Thailand and get a 30 day visa waiever at immigration? I understand i will need an on-going ticket, so will booking a one way flght to Laos departing say 28 days after arival, be acceptable if i print off the booking?

I could of course just stay in KL a day or two longer and buy new return flight but now I have heard about the consulate being tight on TV's im thinking sod it, just go back to Thailand get a 30 day and fly somewhere else in a few weeks.

Am i making this sound to simple? Or is it as simple as I think it is?

Thanks

Returning and getting a 30 day visa exempt entry is probably your best option.

Immigration seldom ask to see the ticket out within 30 days it may be the airline that asks. You could get a low cost one way ticket to anywhere if needed.

You would not have to leave the country after 30 day since you can apply for 30 day extension of your entry at a immigration office.
