CDC Chairman assures public, health reform won’t lead to cancellation of health care program

BANGKOK, 8 July 2016 (NNT) – The Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Commission has assured the public that the reform of the country’s public health system will not lead to the cancellation of the universal health care program.

CDC Chairman Meechai Ruchuphan on Thursday delivered a special lecture to executives of the Public Health Ministry, who attended with the Public Health Minister Prof. Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn.

The lecture, which was on the new Constitution and the reform of the public health system, was also broadcast to all health offices across the country.

Mr. Meechai said that, because of the Public Health Ministry’s close interaction with the people, its staff and volunteers operating nationwide, it's obvious that ministry personnel can be instrumental in disseminating key information and details, as well as the objectives of the new draft charter, to all Thais clearly and effectively.

The CDC Chairman stressed that the new draft Constitution offers two main focus points, namely the structure of the country and systematic solutions to all problems in the country.

Mr. Meechai went on to say that, as Thailand’s public health affairs are more advanced than any other areas, the CDC has only included broad provision in the charter so as to indicate that the country’s public health system should aim to establish equality and offer coverage for all from the day they are born until the day that they die, while encouraging the provision of education, treatment and rehabilitation.

Regarding the 30-baht universal health care program under the National Health Security Fund, the CDC Chairman insisted that the new charter still keeps the system in place, although some additions were made to ensure its efficiency and guarantee that the funds will be well-spent in the interests of the people.

These guy's have been gunning for this for quite a while...

I have heard a whisper that one of the reforms will be that people that need to use the 30 baht system will need to be issued with a (bud phu yag Li) low income/no income/poor person card, no card no health care under the system.

Also that if you own a home you will not be eligible for the card, So if you your wife owns a home and uses the 30 baht system better hurry up and flog it before these vampires sink their teeth into the health system.

First the 500/700 baht per month for the elderly, now the health system, what's next?

They are really going after the underprivileged of Thailand.

But hey look at the bright side, Thailand will have some nice Ukraine/Chinese tanks and a submarine with no wear to dockblink.png

systematic solutions to all problems in the country.

Some would argue the greatest problem the country faces is that the army keeps taking over. Charter institutionalizes that which is the opposite to solving it.

reform of the country’s public health system will not lead to the cancellation of the universal health care program

Here is what I find in the draft charter in Section 551:

The State shall ensure the availability of efficient public health service for all people, increase the basic knowledge of health promotion and disease prevention, and promote and support the development of wisdom on Thai traditional medicine for realization of maximum benefits.

Provides a lot of leeway in how the health care program is conducted. Meechai's assurances provide little comfort as to what the final program will become.

They won't touch the 30 Baht scheme until/unless they feel absolutely secure. Then it will go.

Hmmmm, whom do I believe, Meechai or red shirt whispers. Let me think about it a while............

Any one that needs "a while" to decide the true nature and intensions of the junta and the people he has appointed has serious issues.

"Hmmmm, whom do I believe?" well why not take a lesson from history.

No there will not be a coup.

There will be elections in 2015/ 16/ 17/ I don't know if there will be elections.

If I want to use my full powers I can have people taken out and shot.

The government always respects the rights of the people.

I grant myself and selected others with blanket amnesty for crimes committed in the past the present and the future, But others asked to vote on an amnesty, bugga off mate they are only for the likes of me and my own, especially not for those with red bowls, a danger to the country and even more dangerous are them students who think they have the right to Speak, gaol, gaol, gaol them all and no chance of amnesty...

Now Meeechai works for this proven liar and will do and say as directed.

Still avoiding the other questions in a different post I see, cheesy.gif

Try to understand that hearsay evidence of an unsupported allegation has absolutely NO credibility. OTOH I have every reason to believe k.Meechai is working for the benefit of the nation. So the decision is obvious, the statement a parody.

Now try to grasp the difference between "avoiding' and 'ignoring' irrelevant rubbish.
