KTB says prompt pay service is secure

BANGKOK, 8 July 2016 (NNT) - Krung Thai Bank (KTB) has assured that its Prompt Pay service is secure, adding that customers will compensated for any system breach.

KTB Executive Director Vorapak Tanyawong said the bank allows both current and new customers to register for Prompt Pay in advance, starting this month.

The registration process takes less than two minute to complete. Around 80% of registrations were completed online, while the remaining 20% were filed through KTB branches.

At least 300,000 people have already registered for the bank's new money transfer method. Out of KTB's 17 million customers, around eight million are expected to adopt Prompt Pay.

Mr. Vorapak downplayed safety concerns, claiming that the bank’s system has never been breached electronically before. The bank assured that it will take responsibility for any mistake that results from a security breach.

There is always a first time as some banks in europe have already been hit for a lot, and their security is far better than KTB.
