THAILAND -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha believes there are someone who funded the publication and distribution of a distorted version of the draft constitution many copies of which emerged in northern provinces.

Publication of a distorted version of the draft charter is regarded as falsifying officials documents which is against the law, he said, adding that an investigation is under way to find out who are responsible for these illegal acts.

He said that, sooner or later, the culprits would be identified and dealt with in accordance with the law and he warned that several people who face legal actions.

The prime minister disclosed that he had not been notified by Constitution Drafting Committee chairman Meechai Ruchupan who earlier said he would seeking a meeting with the NCPO and the Election Commission to discuss how to deal with the issue of distorted version of the draft charter.

Meechai said he suspected the publication and distribution of the “fake” or distorted version of the draft charter was well organized and funded.

The prime minister said there was no need for the “five rivers” to discuss the August 7 referendum because this was the responsibility of the Election Commission.

He also shrugged off a report that several former Pheu Thai MPs would fly to Dubai to attend the birthday celebration of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra on July 26.

Excellent reason to declare the upcoming referendum invalid if the results are not satisfying i would say.

Indeed, that might well be part of the reason for making such silly statements.

I am sure the puppet EC would enthusiasticly declare the referendum invalid because fake information on the charter has been widely spread! ;)

So there are 2 fake charters. The one the CDC drafted on the pretense of being good for the country and the fake, fake charter, assuming to tell it as it is.

Then we have the fake PM complaining about the fake, fake charter but pushing his own fake charter and real ex PM's stating the whole process is fake.

For fakes sake !

You can download a copy of the Thailand draft charter 2016 in English from this website:-

Thanks for that.

I see that academic freedoms to teach and receive knowledge by the people has been removed.

Madra 50 2007 constitution.

The protection of children and their right to intellectual development madra 52 has been removed.

The good governance law madra 74 has been removed.

The right to freedom and protection of all employment and business development has been removed.

Many of the rights of the 2007 constitution are very different in this constitution.

I have no opinion as to which constitution is better or worse, but they certainly are very different.

I must be missing something, I didn't see a single word about children's rights and protections.

Ever considered it is true? Nice try of someone with evil intentions.

evil intentions? like removing a junta that's outstayed its welcome ? systematically tried to remove the Shiniwatras from the face of the earth? Prayuth is showing his coloured political bias constantly, but you sycophants lap this up, despite not actually allowing the Thai's to voice their opinions.

How about Prayuth actually publishes all these allegations that seem to be a "threat to national security" once and for all, as he does this week in week out, and yet you have these bullshit polls that show support for him in the high 90's percent wise.

So who's more delusional ? the PM or his ex pat fan base, which seems to be shrinking more and more as the months go by!!

Ohh bugga greenchair, now you've done it, how are the junta huggers going to spin this now??? Don't you know they hate it when people use facts and figures as proof that things are not all good in their junta lah lah land.

But then again they do tend to stay well away from issues that are inconvenient.

Any way we all know the boogey man in the Dubai is their mantra.

It seems the news is coming out that the supposed fake constitutions have a title at the top front in bold which says something like "dissenting" in Thai or ""ความเห็นแย้ง" So the commentary now is that it's not a 'fake' constitution at all. It's just a compilation of criticism of 10 items in the constitution. It also seems to have come from the New Democracy movement. There is a copy on google drive.

In today's BP Jatuporn has denied that anybody had funded the "fake charter" copies. (MRD applies)

How does he know this to be true? Perhaps like the valuable objects in his house, it was simply a 'gift', quite possibly from the same benefactor.

The whole paper they call a 'fake charter' is 13 pages. That's it. You can see it online at a couple of locations. It's just commentary on 10 key parts of the charter. It's pretty obvious this is being used by the government as propaganda to flame the search for WMDs that aren't there.

It's pretty obvious that the reactions here vary from 'government conspiracy' to 'foreign base inspired'.

The conmentary on 10 keys parts as you call it seems to reflect closely the arguments Pheu Thai posted on their facebook page a while ago. Of course that could be coincidence, after all pigs can fly in Thailand.

As pigs can fly in Thailand it could indeed be a coincidence.
