LONDON: -- A shocking animal abuse case involving a slow loris that had its teeth ripped so tourists could pose with him for photos has been exposed by a wildlife foundation in Thailand.

The male Bengal slow loris, now named Boris, had his teeth removed by people using wild animals illegally as ‘photo props’, according to Wildlife Friends Foundations Thailand (WFFT).

Boris was reportedly found by a passer-by in the Chaweng Beach area of the popular tourist island of Koh Samui, however the WFFT Wildlife Rescue Centre do not believe the loris was simply ‘found’ after a check over revealed some ‘hideous findings’.

Utterly disgusting. The selfie freaks are just as responsible although "they know not what they do"....same, same drugged tigers, freaky elephant shows. These poor creatures used to appear at the Patpong night market. Maybe they still do.

Animals have very little rights in today's world.......

So so sad...

Just in the news the other day about that Matador in Spain getting gored to death by the bull, unfortunately the Bull was killed too..

It's a cruel, world we live in especially for Animals....

Sad..... But ...... True.......

Is there anything these despicable and greedy people wont do for money?

Well, anything apart from a proper job.

Like sell or disfigure their children?

This type of person will do ANYTHING for money.

On the one hand, tourism can be goid for a particular region or country. But more times than not, it causes more harm than good. Personally, I blame it on the frgging tourists! Anybody with half a brain knows that animals in general, and wild animals especially, are not play things...

And all of this just for a photo?! How sad is the human race...?

Especially for animals?

Never mind the thousands of humans killed, raped, wounded, maltreated, slaved?

I hope they won't block The Telegraph for this biggrin.png

Thought had crossed my mind as well.

Do you think Thailand understand how foreigners are viewing their country now? I spoke to someone in the UK recently who was appalled at the Tiger temple scandal, it has been given very wide coverage Globally, with this story from the Telegraph it seems the spotlight is well and truly on Thailand.

I personally think it can only do good as authorities want to show they are dealing with these issues and not accepting them. However, the horse has already bolted when it comes to reputation.

Indeed, humanities inhumanity towards other humans, is at times deplorable.

However...., humans are far from being an endangered species.... And we have long since evolved from human death for entertainment activities, which seem to be what this equates too.

So by definition.... Barbaric.

Selfies can be traced via social media, like kiddie porn.... These people need rounding up, and in this instance, I agree with the bibles sentiment... A tooth for a tooth!

Things like this can happen anywhere in the world but they grow to epidemic proportions in Thailand because of the greed of the BIB.

It is way past time for a complete reform of the whole RTP. They need to ALL be fired and start over from scratch.

Start with no more buying your way into positions.

Until the system is prevented from being set up as a money making operation, things will never change.

can we find the perpetretor and apply the eye for an eye rule? In this case would be more appropriate teeth for a teeth....

I guess this rune would diminish a lot of criminality in the whole world...
