Getting a WP on NON-O visa within non Thai marriage

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Could anyone pls advise,

I have a non O visa, which I would like to use to obtain my work permit with. My visa is following my husband non B visa, he is not Thai, working officially only.

In this case should I change visa to non B, or can obtain a WP using non O?

any help will be much appreciated

Are you here on a visa entry (need to leave the country every 90 days) or on an extension (report to immigrations every 90 days)?

on an extension (report to immigrations every 90 days)

You will need to leave the country and get a non 'B' visa. You'll be granted 90 days on re-entry and will have to apply for an extension of stay, in your own right based on your work, within the last 30 (maybe 45) days.

It is not really an immigration issue. It will depend upon whether the Labor Ministry work permit office will issue one or not.

If you were able to get the work permit there is nothing that would prevent you from working with your current extension.
