July 13, 20169 yr Hello to all I didn't know I was in this situation, but it appears I am overstay with a 1 year non B visa. I had a 1 year non B visa with a work permit. I sold my company on May 2 and my work permit was cancelled beginning of June. I didn't know I was overstay and now I would like to go out (I know I have to pay a 20000 baths fine) and make a 2 month touristic visa extendable 1 month until I get a new business. What is the best place by road or flight? Thank you
July 13, 20169 yr Unless you went to immigration and canceled your extension at immigration they would probably not know about you selling your business and your extension is still valid. Just have the 20k baht with you when you leave in case they learned about it someway. Flying out is always best. The next best option is to fly to Udon Thani, take a van from the airport there to the bridge in Nong Khai and then crossover to Vientiane Laos You could get a single entry tourist visa at the consular section of the embassy there that would allow a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days.
July 13, 20169 yr Author And they can't know in their system my work permit has been cancelled when I go out? Are a flight and a request at the consulate for a 60 days visa in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore a good way to have an acceptance? Thank you

Are a flight and a request at the consulate for a 60 days visa in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore a good way to have an acceptance? Thank you There is no notification done when a work permit is canceled. Immigration and the Labor Ministry are two completely separate entities. KL and Singapore are not good locations to get a visa of any kind. There are many reports of people being turned away for both of them when trying to apply for a tourist visa. Penang, Vientiane and Savannakhet are the best places to get a single entry tourist visa.

Not many options if flying from Pattaya/Utapao (UTP) airport. From Bangkok you could fly from Don Mueang to Vientiane or Penang which are two easy locations to get a visa.
