July 13, 20169 yr Hello. I'm back visiting the UK and planning my return to Thailand. I've overstayed by 3 days and 1 day previously. I live close to Birmingham and had planned on getting the usual 60 day tourist visa but now I see their consulate has unfortunately closed. Train tickets to Hull, seemingly the only other consulate to offer same day visa's, are expensive and a long journey. Do you think I'd have any issues with gaining a 30 day exemption on arrival, taking into account my overstays in the passport. A trip to Bali was on the cards in a month anyway. Is it worth the risk? Thanks
July 13, 20169 yr You could apply for a Tourist Visa (SETV) by post to the Thai Embassy in London. They usually return the passport/visa within a few working days. Your overstay shouldn't affect you getting a visa exempt entry at immigration, but there is more chance of being questioned about your stay if you don't have a visa. Some airlines will not allow you to fly without a visa unless you have an onward flight dated within 30 days of arrival.
