July 15, 20169 yr Hi all, Last month I went to my local immigration office to apply for a 1 year extension of stay based on marriage, everything was fine and sent off to Bangkok. Now I am back to collect my visa on the last day stamped (30days later) but they said that they haven't go my paperwork back yet. I asked them what I should do and they don't know, either they can keep my passport and I return again at a later date, or I can just take my passport and go home... Anyone else ever had this? It all seems a bit strange to me. Any advice? Thank you
July 15, 20169 yr All quite normal. Take your passport home and return at a later date. They should be able to tell you when.
July 15, 20169 yr Not unusual for it to take longer than 30 days. The under consideration stamp allows you to stay until your application is approved. The 30 report back date is just that and does no mean the under considerations period has ended. Go home and take your passport with you and then check back with them in few days to find out if they have received the approval.
July 15, 20169 yr Happened to me 2 times in different years, first time paperwork not arrived second time big boss lady was not at the office to do the stamping.
