Tourist visa to Non-o ED

Featured Replies

A friend of mine has been accepted to a masters program at a university in Bangkok. HIs 60 day tourist visa will expire in less than a week. I told him that he needs at least 15 days in order to change his tourist visa to non-o Ed. So my question is: can he extend his visa for 30 days and then change to non-o at the same day ? If anyone know about this any help is appreciated :-) thank you

He can get the 30 day extension and then apply for a change of visa status for a 90 day non immigrant visa entry (class ED). He could do both the extension and visa application during the same trip to immigration.

There is no non-o-ed visa it is a non-ed visa.

Thank you joe for your reply! Can't he get a one year visa since he will be studying for 2 years at Mahidol university? Thanks again

During the last 30 days of the 90 day entry he will be able to apply for a one year extension of stay (not a visa) based upon on studying at the University.
