Night fire guts car accessories factory in Samut Prakarn

SAMUT PRAKARN: -- A huge fire broke out last night at a car accessory manufacturing factory in Thepharak road in Samut Prakarn province, damaging a warehouse where a large number of car accessories were stored.

The fire was reported at Aeroklas Co Ltd which is located on a 6-rai plot of land at Kilometre 6 on Thepharak road.

Factory guards reported fire at the rear of Warehouse 2 where finished accessories, plastic and foams were stored.

A dozen of fire trucks arrived as the fire spread quickly to engulf the entire warehouse building.

There were no workers at the factory as it was closed during the long holiday.

Sporadic explosion sounds were heard, believed from inflammable raw materials such as cans of thinner.

The fire raged for three hours after the warehouse was completely gutted.

Initial damage was estimated at 10 million baht

Forensic police inspected the factory this morning to look into the cause, which initially blamed on electric short circuit.
