Australian rugby player Michael Quinn admits US child sex charge

LOS ANGELES: -- Australian rugby player and scientist Michael Quinn has pleaded guilty in a Los Angeles court to travelling to the US to have sexual conduct with a child.

Quinn, 33 and a player with the Melbourne Chargers, arrived in the US on 19 May and believed he had made contact with child traffickers.

Instead he was arrested on 21 May after giving $250 ($A335; £190) to undercover agents he believed would give him access to a six-year-old boy.

He faces up to 13 years in prison.

I am amazed he is only up for a possible 13 years. there was a woman in the US who allowed a teenager to fondle her breast and she was given life without parole. Still, he is deservedly going to be a very very sorry person. 13 years in a US supermax - ouch!

Yep. The lowest of the low. Even lower then lawyers... and that's saying something. They put them into protected confinement in prison so the 'regulars' don't bash them to death.

Yanks are good at running trap websites for this sort of thing. I remember a WA goldminer arrested in LA transit lounge en route to Mexico where he had booked a room and 2 (very) young girls. Got to rub salt into the wound when you pay for your own airfare to prison.

I can assure all here that in the US child molesters are quickly taken care of by the prison population.
