PRD documentary team visits Yunnan for exchange

BANGKOK, 21 July 2016 (NNT) – The Public Relations Department (PRD) has dispatched a production team to Yunnan of China to engage in technical exchanges and bilateral relation building.

PRD Deputy Director-General Chamlong Singtohngam led the team, which was invited to Yunnan as part of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Thailand’s PRD and the Chinese city’s Office of Radio, Television and Film in June for the exchange of knowledge on information technology.

Yunnan representative Lin Siying welcomed the team by stating that her office and the PRD have maintained good cooperation for 10 years and that their staff have engaged in cultural and social exchanges. Prior to the Thai team’s arrival, its Yunnan counterpart visited Thailand to film a documentary.

The representative suggested that both team’s exchange their documentaries for airing in each other’s countries as well as that their organizations jointly organize concerts, the production of television dramas and collaborate on news production.

Chamlong thanked the Yunnan Office of Radio, Television and Film for receiving his team and assisting them in filming their documentary, assuring them that the piece would be aired in Thailand to promote visits to Yunnan. He also assured that he would propose all of the office’s suggestions upon returning to Thailand.

After a tour of the office’s facilities, the team also met with counterparts from Lijiang and Dali who expressed interest in similar exchanges.
