I've seen signs in the BTS stations indicating a station-station fare increase coming soon. Maybe 1 December 2006? Something like + 5 baht, but I'm not sure if that's for all fares? The station-station fare box on the linked page does not reflect the increase. There may also be some debate about actually implementing this increase, but I have not followed all the stories in the press.

Let me give you mytop tip for free. If you purchase 'single' tickets and get change from the window, check it carefully. I got caught out each time by changing a 100 baht note and getting 80 baht in exchange . Once I realised I wasn't imagining it, a quick turn around to the window and a hand held out expectantly resolved the problem.
