It's for settlement visa. My mother in-law wrote the accommodation letter and it is dated 15th of June 2016. Can I still use the letter even if it is more than 28 days old? Thanks.

For the attention of the Entry Clearance Officer

I am the mother of xxxxxxxxxx and the mother-in-law of Mr. xxxxxxxxxxxxx. I am happy and willing to

provide accommodation for xxxxxxxxxxx. I own a four bedroom house and there is ample space for him.

His wife xxxxxxxx ( and their son), already live here with me, so there is no extra accommodation required.

I have provided evidence that I own my home.

Please contact me if I can assist further.

Yours faithfully'

The requirement for recent documentation normally refers to things like financial evidence where the details need to be up to date, I don't think that the fact that the letter from your mother is dated more than a month ago would be an issue.

You will need to provide evidence that there is sufficient room in the house available to you both, not just the letter of invite and proof that your mother owns the house.
