yearly retirement extension

Featured Replies

From yesterday, for the first time in my 20+ years in Thailand, I have 800K Baht in the required bank account. Previously I used the combination method with documents;embassy letter for income, bank book (a different account) showing monthly income; savings bank account book + letter from the bank, and of course, usual non-financial documents for address etc. As I hope that 800K will remain until my next yearly extension (next April) I seek advice from others here about what document(s) are not / may not be required in comparison to the combo method. I'd appreciate any helpful comments. (Incidentally, yesterday at 90 report in Udorn (Udon) no general foreigner info form so was in and out in 5 minutes).

You will not need the embassy letter to prove income. Normally a bank book is not needed for the account your income goes into.

ubonjoe, Oh that's very useful.saves a couple of thousand Baht, and of course waiting time. Many thanks, much appreciated that you replied.

Yes.

Letter from bank containing the 800,000 and updated bank book.

Were not Udon one of those offices who had been placing retirement extension applications under consideration for 30 days but according to recent reports on here are no longer doing so?

If so, this would then leave Kap Choeng as the only rogue office in this regard to the best of my knowledge.

In April this year, yes they did place me on the 30 day consideration. However, wasn't there a post by someone who said that an American made a 'noise' about it and eventually got it one day?
